Sarajane grew up in Southern California. At nineteen, she was the house hair model for a stylist at a local salon and found that she loved the creative, social atmosphere there. She decided to pursue a hair career of her own, and went on to train at Vidal Sassoon and Bumble and bumble. Seeking a change, she moved to New York City in 2003 and was soon the lead educator at Bumble and bumble's New York based salon. She continued her role as educator at ION Studio, where she created a curriculum to help her students excel beyond typical hair training.
Sarajane is inspired by classic shapes and men's grooming and barbering, particularly 50's teddy boy styles. She is also inspired by each individual client, and prides herself on creating cuts that are tailored to each client's needs and lifestyle. She is known for her versatility and seemingly effortless ability to help clients find their own style and bring out their best. In her spare time, Sarajane practices yoga and makes an effort to integrate those principles into her teaching and everyday life. Her experience, sharp eye, and high taste level ensure that she will stand out as the newest member of the Whittemore House staff.
