Reagan Baker

Stylist

Reagan Baker didn't set foot into a salon until she was fourteen – before then her mom would cut her and her six siblings' hair at their home in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. She can still clearly remember the overwhelmingly giddy feeling she had that day, the excitement of having a seasoned stylist shape her hair and even the way the professional products smelled. It was that experience that motivated Reagan to attend beauty school in Utah and then move to New York where she apprenticed with Jenny B at Cutler Salon before joining the staff at Whittemore House Salon.

Reagan's work has appeared in Cosmopolitan and Rolling Stone, on VH-1 and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. A longtime fan of blondes – she counts Daryl Hannah in Splash and Brigitte Bardot as her all-time favorite hair icons – Reagan loves long, classically feminine cuts. Her beauty motto is, “a good haircut, good products, and ten minutes is all you need." Reagan likes to train her clients by giving them styling tips and teaching them to blow-dry their own hair between visits to the salon. She believes in enhancing the texture you have, not changing it.

Reagan is most inspired by New York street style and the voluminous teasing and backcombing of the 1960s. Her blog, Hairdresser on Fire, can be found at www.hdofblog.com.
